Be Part of hometown DC
More than an exhibition, hometown DC is an invitation to connect with the fabric of our city. Join us for two free interactive events where Washingtonians’ stories will take center stage.
Verbal Gymnastics Theater Company will bring recorded memories to life using a modified version of their signature ‘Playback Theater’ method. During these events, the company will perform a selection of oral history interviewee stories through movement, music, and drama.
Each performance will feature a selection of hometown DC stories, ensuring these oral histories are not just archived, but experienced. At each event, attendees can expect a thoughtful, high-energy performance that turns local history into a shared visual experience.
